Recycled Rides
Recycled Rides is a nationwide awareness project whereby collision repair members of
the National Auto Body Council (NABC) repair and donate recycled vehicles to families
in need in their communities.
Their goal is to deliver hundreds of cars each year to families in need identified through
collaboration with local charitable agencies.
With great pleasure and gratification F. Lofrano & Son has taken part in this effort. Our
first step is to choose a recipient. This is a difficult decision to make with so many people
in need. Our next step is to coordinate the repair and gather our gracious partners which
will be needed to make this all happen. What we will need is an insurance company to
supply a worthy repairable vehicle, parts suppliers to donate the necessary parts needed
for the job, a paint jobber to supply the necessary supplies, paint, and materials.
Then the work begins. Donating their time and working in the company’s facilities, F.
Lofrano & Son technicians, and painters gladly go to work.
This all comes together when the vehicle is presented to the happy recipients along with a
luncheon celebrating all that have taken part in the event.
Recent organizations which have benefited from these free vehicles are:
• Casa Allegra – a 2003 Honda Odyssey Van with the damaged vehicle being
contributed by CSAA.
• Meals of Marin – a 2005 Dodge Caravan with the damaged vehicle being
contributed by Esurance.
